Another Ice Fence

In another part of the Ice Park there is the smaller of two houses.  This one is surrounded by a short picket fence.

Quite a pretty sight when the sun is shining!

You'll want to dress warmly if you're thinking of taking up residence though.  Sydney tried out the table....

....and did a little lounging on the bed.

At night it took on an eerie look--I think I'll take a pass on an overnighter....

Icy Fence

A lovely fence was created in the Kid's Park at the Ice Park this year.  It surrounds an icy Asian garden.

The Ice Park closes Saturday and, with temps in the 40s this week, the delicate ice won't last much longer.  While we're enjoying the early warm weather, it's not kind to all those wonderful ice sculptures.  I'll get to more photos of the competitive sculptures in the coming weeks while we wait for spring to arrive.

Concentration

The 2016 World Ice Art Championships Single and Multi Block competitions are both complete now and I've taken quite a few photos.  I'll start out with the Single Block.  The winner of the Realistic Division is entitled "Concentration" and was created by James Duggan and Aaron Costic of the United States.  Mr. Duggan has been carving for 20 years.  He has many awards to his name and has an ice sculpting business in Atlanta, Georgia.  Mr. Costic has been carving for 25 years.  He has also won many awards and has an ice sculpting business in Broadview Heights, Ohio.

Ice Turtles

The Ice Park has been open for a couple of weeks and we've made a few visits.  We've come across many fantastic creatures, among them a group of turtles.

My granddaughter Sydney introduced herself, and found a friend in one she named Shira.

In no time at all, they were on a journey through magical places.

I'm sure I saw Shira give us a big wink as we went on our way to the next adventure.

I'm linking with Eileen's Saturday's Critters.

I'll post photos of the carving competitions soon.
