Lake Erie, Water and Birds

We drove north today through Pennsylvania and into New York. We spent a little time on the beach at Lake Erie. It was a lovely sunny day in the low 70s, but a bit windy.
It's been a while since I have walked on the beach, and the first time I have been to the Great Lakes.
I got my feet wet since it was my first time, but Marty said that since he had went swimming many times in Lake Erie when he was a child he didn't need to.
There was a lot of birds around, mostly gulls.
They were standing around on the pier.
And there was a lot of flying to and fro.
It seems that every body of water, no matter how small or how large, always has gulls hanging around.
Coming in for a landing, this gull looks like it is standing on the water.
When we sat on a bench for a short while, it seemed that we were expected to provide a snack. There was a bit of disappointment when we didn't.
Amongst all the gulls, a lone Mallard swam up looking for a handout too.
Tonight we are on the south side of Buffalo, and the plan is to go to Niagara Falls tomorrow. Marty was last there when he was 12 years old, and I have never been, so it should be a good day.
